The year of 2004 was a tragic year indeed for the Cullen family. Their son, Edward, had fallen for Bella Swan and they were moving on into a serious relationship. However, Edward and his family were vampires and it created problems for this lowly human girl.
Edward's love of this human lead to a nomadic vampire named James hunting her down. They ran with her to Phoenix, where she escaped the watchful eye of Alice and Jasper and has since went missing.
Unable to live with the presumed death of Edward's love, the Cullens move away from Forks, Washington to the town of Tacoma. During their stay in this city, Alice gets a vision that a girl at their new high school will suffer the same fate as Bella and it's up to the Cullens (with the aide of two new "family members") to keep it from happening again.
